Today wake up late as we need to switch dorm at the afternoon. Awaken around 10am and having light breakfast at dorm. It's a wonderful morning in Seoul except earlier was awaken by a group of western group in my dorm.
We leaving dorm at 12noon and waking all the way to Itaewon station. Though finding something to eat around that area but there isn't any place suit us.
We end up having out brunch at one Korean restaurant just next to Itaewon station. First time taking vege mixed rice. It's just exactly like what I always see in the Korean drama. Hahahaha. It cost me 8000 won for the rice and a bottle of coke.
Let share some secret here. Well, because of my carelessness I forget to bring my toothbrush to Seoul and because it late at night I didn't manage to get a toothbrush. Hahaha meaning I actually didn't brush my teeth this morning.
Anyway I manage get a toothbrush now from a shop Namdaemun market.
Back to my journey, after brunch at Itaewon, we heading to Namdaemun market. Get some help from the tourist information counter. The best thing hanging in Seoul is there are lots of tourist information counter and assistant helping around the town.
We get our subway ticket and started our journey. Reached Samgakji station and we are holding map and looking at the station direction board for few minutes but unfortunately we also cannot find out which station we should transfer to reach Namdaemun market. Suddenly a woman approached to us speaking Korean to us and asking where we wanna go. We told her that we want to go to Namdaemun market. She taught the way in Korean and we listen carefully. Luckily she is a very helpful and understanding woman. She purposely speak slower and using hand sign to make sure we understand.
With her help, we manage to reach Namdaemun. Walking all the way on the street and lots of things to buy. One issue we facing is language issue. As here mostly is Korean senior citizen stall so they don't understand English.
But luckily we know some broken Korean. Hahaha. Something funny happen when we hang around at the area. People keep speaking Korean to me.
When we pass by a shop selling bags, the shop owner who is a uncle suddenly pull my hand and drag me to his stall and promoting his LV bag to me. He speak Korean to me and it is like a drama happening one the street and his friends was laughing there. In a polite way I told him " no. Thanks. It's okay. I don't need a bag" I even saying thank you to him. He is just laughing there still holding my hand. Then I keep telling him it's okay and bowed and thanks him. He then laugh and told me it's okay and goodbye.
What a nice experience in Seoul. I think I really love this place but the only thing I'm sad of is I cannot speak their language. I guess after this trip, I should take my Korean class seriously.
We walk without a direction in Namdaemun and we reached Namdaemun underground market. This is also the place almost make me half broke. I bought lots of Super Junior merchandise from a kpop shop. Perhaps, the shop owner know I love Super Junior as I keep asking her about super junior and kyuhyun stuff. Omg! When I walk round the underground shops, there is a shop playing super junior's a-cha and I accidentally danced there. LOL.
Too many things and it make me feel the tiredness and pain of our hand. While we on our way looking for the Heohyeon station as we really lost our way again but again, Seoul is a really friendly town. You can always found some map and direction board on the street. On the way to Heohyeon station we saw a Nickhun banner. Wa! It remind me of Teng and Michy. LOL.
OH! A shop caught my attention, it's THE FACE SHOP. Shop till drop at the face shop. I am so happy as the sales girl is a china girl and we speak Chinese in the shop. It is so happening as most of the products not available in Malaysia. Suddenly another Korean sales girl told the china girl something in Korean. The girl actually asked me do I know Ah Niu as earlier I told them I'm from Malaysia. I told her I know Ah Niu. The china girl can't really remember who is Ah Niu so I sing a part of Ah Niu song " DUI Mian De Nv Hai Kan Guo Lai". The Korean told me that she like Ah Niu because his rabbit teeth make he look super cute. WELL! I am little proud as our local artist was known by someone in Korea. I hope Ah Niu can read this post of mine as I believe this is a big compliment to him.
I know I'm extremely crazy in Seoul. Oh yeh, Angie baby I did what I promised. While I'm hanging in The Face Shop, they playing Sistar's SO COOL and I actually sing and dance there. Yeh, I'm so cool. Hahahaha!
Truly Super Junior is damn famous in Korea. You can heard shops around Namdaemun keep playing their song. I'm extremely proud of them.
I know I say it lots of time but I still want to say it again that I love Seoul as when ever I go, I can listen to my favorite songs.
Extremely tired and leg feel like broken into pieces so we stop at a cafe opposite Heohyeon station exit 5. The cafe name is Cafe Ellia. Enjoying my iced latte here while writing this piece of blog in my iPad.
Feeling so comfortable sitting here as they playing all my favorite Korean songs. hahaha. I guess I can sit inside a cafe whole day and enjoying my day. Wishing there is a cafe in KL which playing all Korean songs.
It's getting late now as it is 730pm KST. Soon gonna heading back to Itaewon and I need a good rest for tomorrow journey. ~ that's my 2nd day in Seoul.
P/s : Please stop the time, I don't feel like want to go back home. I love Korea more than M**********a. LOL. That's me <3
XOXO,
SJ
